Chrome will start showing ‘not secure’ warning on HTTP pages
On 17th of August, Google sent an email containing a warning about HTTP pages to all the webmasters in Google Search Console.
Chrome will show this ‘not secure’ warning in two cases - first when a user types in a form on HTTP pages such as login or other inputs. Second, on all HTTP pages browsed in incognito mode.
Chrome is planning to start showing this ‘not secure’ warning from October 2017 in its coming version 62.
This is not the first time, Google has given a warning about this. Google had notified a few months back as well.
Google has recommended migrating to HTTPS to escape the warning and keep users’ data safe.
